As a digital bank that highly values innovation, it was natural for Nordnet to choose a new HR system that could support the entire palette of HR processes. Since the bank's ambition is to create a world-class user experience for its customers, the internal user experience is also in focus.
Nordnet lacked a system support that could manage master data the entire Nordic organization, and wanted to achieve higher data quality, less manual processing and higher security and efficiency.
Nordnet's operations are very digital, therefore it was natural to review the possibility of implementing a new HR system that could support the entire palette of HR processes, simply a system to grow in.
Since the company's ambition is to create a world-class user experience for customers, the internal user experience is also in focus. Managers and employees should be able to work in a easy to use system with good functionality and nice UX / interface. HR should be able to easily produce reports and analyzes and to secure being GDPR compliant.
The project was divided into four different steps:
During the project, CatalystOne's proprietary and proven project methodology has been used, which is based on active participation by the customer's project manager, system administrator (s) and project group. The configuration has largely taken place in joint workshops, but also as homework between these occasions.
Time, budget and quality were ensured through a well-planned and anchored project plan and a fixed price plan for the implementation. Through weekly reconciliations between CatalystOne and Nordnet, it was ensured that the project plan was followed, and that flagging for any challenges or new needs etc. could be done as early as possible.
Through involvement of managers in reference groups, through communication on the intranet and also through presentations in the Nordic management team. One success factor in the change management was that the modular launches took place gradually and always in connection with a concrete process or a process step. It created a natural implementation where the system quickly became a part of the managers' everyday life.
In retrospect, it can be stated that the objectives have been met in their entirety. Extra positive is that a "pull effect" has been created where the managers themselves see that MasterMind can be used in different ways, for example, the HR function's collaboration with Compliance and Security & Surveillance has been strengthened, as these units have benefited greatly from the LMS functionality in the system and supported the creative process in how the module can be utilized to the maximum.
Previously, we had separate processes for, for example, employee interviews, goal management and pay revision. Through our implementation, we now have a system that links the processes and makes it more relevant, transparent and easily accessible for both managers and employees. By gathering all our processes in the same place, we have built a completely new user experience.
Nordnet is a digital bank that highly values innovation. The idea behind Nordnet is to give clients control over their investments and their pension savings, for people who want to be able to act independently. Nordnet offers its customers the tools, services and products they need to grow their money.

“With the system, several of our processes have become both faster and more cost-effective. To be able to produce and cross data in an extremely short time and make people analytics very exact, means that we can help the managers make better and more precise decisions.”
– Jenny Garneij, former (2018) Chief Human Capital Officer, Nordnet
