With Competence Management from CatalystOne, the contractor company now has a flexible and efficient system that contributes to the professional management of the company’s key competitive advantages.
How good is the company’s overview of all its internal competence out at its different offices? And more importantly: How easy is it to put together the right team to succeed in large tender processes? These were some of the challenges facing Reinertsen AS when it was looking to implement a modern competence strategy leveraged with modern software tools.
- We compete in a knowledge-based market, says Hilde Sofie Heum, HR-Advisor in Reinertsen AS. In large tender processes, we often put together multidisciplinary teams, and we wanted a system that provided a better overview, with strong search capabilities for our CV database.
The right competence at the right place
Now Reinertsen AS has adopted a new CV template, allowing for a range of different search criteria. “We’ve achieved a more efficient tender process and can easily create a professional presentation of the relevant employees from our CV database. In addition, we have streamlined the process of finding the right competence for projects. This becomes even more visible when we work between our different offices,” says Heum.
With the competence management tool, each employee can easily update their CV with exact descriptions of their experiences from new projects, as well as their certifications and courses. All employees are placed at the appropriate competence level, and the company plans to define different roles.
Systematic follow-up with performance appraisals
Reinertsen Sverige AS has also chosen to implement Appraisal Manager from CatalystOne to ensure a systematic and professional performance appraisal process. – By connecting the competence management function to performance appraisals through a software tool in the same family, we achieve good and systematic follow-up. This allows us to ensure that all our CVs are updated, says Heum. – When we recruit new people, it is also important to show them that we are a serious business that takes competence seriously.
Reinertsen has chosen to start with small steps, but has great expectations for the way forward. – We look forward to implementing additional features like systematic performance management and coordinated competency development. Going digital was clearly the way to go.
